I am the owner/founder of Law Office of Monica Rawlins, P.C., which is a family law firm. I have practiced law for a little over 20 years. My practice includes but is not limited to divorce, adoption, custody, child support, name changes and all aspects of family law. My practice incudes people from all walks of life - wealthy to modest means and diverse cultures/backgrounds.

I am seeking to be elected as the 328th District Court Judge in Fort Bend County, Texas.

For over 25 years I have been involved in community service and volunteering -- feeding the homeless, visiting nursing homes, volunteering at food banks, and much more. Community involvement is very important to me. Throughout my career, I have taken on many cases pro bono and conducted legal seminars for the public.

Meeting people where they are is very important to me, and I believe this approach promotes fairness and eliminates unfair biases. I have an understanding that no two cases are exactly the same and should not be treated as such.

With my experience, community involvement, compassion for people and willingness to work with others to reach a common goal, I believe I would be a great asset to the 328th District court. Applying the law, making sound decisions when discretion is required, treating each person that enters the courtroom with respect and making myself accessible to all will make this court successful.
  • I have extensive experience in family law. I have handled many, many family cases from start to finish over 20 years. Continued legal education is important.
  • I have compassion for this community. Having knowledge of what is happening in the community contributes to making sound decisions when using discretion in the court.
  • I desire to bring integrity and trust to the bench. Every person that enters the court will be treated with respect -- attorneys and litigants. The law will be followed without any consideration of the attorney or litigant presenting the case. Fair, sound decisions only will be made.
Equality (racial/gender), climate control and women's rights are areas of public policy that I am passionate about.

My personal feelings will not have any impact on my rulings.......throughout my practice I have represented clients from different walks of life. Lifestyles that are not consistent with my belief system. Positions were taken that I did not personally agree with. The law is the law and will be followed.
