Campaign themes

2014

Valenzuela Trudnowski's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]

Creating Jobs

  • Excerpt: "As a self-made businesswoman, I will be a voice for the entrepreneurs of the 28th District that risk everything in their pursuit of the American Dream."

Education

  • Excerpt: "As your representative, I will support reforms that ensure our hard earned tax dollars are spent wisely by the principals who best know their schools and the needs of their students."

Transportation

  • Excerpt: "As your representative in Olympia, I will fight to bring reform and accountability to the Washington State Department of Transportation."

Veterans

  • Excerpt: "Joint Base Lewis-McChord is a major part of our community. It speaks volumes about our district that so many retirees from JBLM choose to stay right here in the Puget Sound area. As a child of a military family and the mother of a Wounded Warrior, I am personally committed to seeing our veterans succeed as they transition from the military. Many have the skills and training our community needs in its civilian workforce, and that is why my business participates in programs that train and hire veterans in the private sector. I believe that all veterans deserve our deepest gratitude and our help."

Healthcare

  • Excerpt: "As a small business owner, I understand how the new healthcare law has negatively impacted Washingtonians. Small businesses in our community are cutting hours and are hesitant to create new jobs because of the financial burdens being placed on us. As your representative, I will fight for your right to choose a healthcare plan that works for you and your family."
