Montana Abolish Property Tax, CI-27 (1986)

The Montana Abolish Property Tax Amendment, also known as CI-27, was on the November 4, 1986 ballot in Montana as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have abolished taxes on real and personal property. The measure also would have required that a sales tax could not be imposed without voter approval and that any increase in a sales tax or income tax would have also required voter approval.[1][2]
