The Montana Authorizing and Regulating Osteopathy Initiative, also known as I-48, was on the November 7, 1944 ballot in Montana as an initiated state statute, where it was defeated. The measure would have defined, authorized and regulated the practice of osteopathic physicians and surgeons, as well as provided penalties for violation of the act.[1][2]
