Montana Change Income Tax Structure, I-86 (1980)

The Montana Change Income Tax Structure Initiative, also known as I-86, was on the November 4, 1980 ballot in Montana as an initiated state statute, where it was approved. The measure changed the income tax structure to require than tax brackets, exemptions, standard deductions and minimum filing requirements be adjusted each year to prevent tax increases based solely on inflation.[1][2]
