Jordan Ophus (D)
I have no intent to pursue higher office outside the legislature. If elected it is my hope to strengthen the foundation of our democracy so that those in congress are held to account. To pursue a position of greater power would erode my values and sense of self as well as remove me from a position where I could combat the corrupting influences of wealth and special interests.
During my active duty service I was taught leadership and dedication to my tasks. My training and qualifications afford me a foundation for performing in such an office well and the many years I have served are comparable to entire terms of already elected officials. I will be willing to offer that same dedication to service and to uphold my oath of office as I did my oath of service to this nation.
