Elections for the office of Montana's state house representatives were held in Montana on November 2, 2010.
The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 15, 2010. The primary election day was June 8, 2010.
Incumbents ran for re-election in 60 out of the 100 districts.
Before the election, Democrats and Republicans each held 50 seats in the chamber. As a result of the election, Republicans gained 18 seats.

Term limits

In 1992, Montana voters approved CI-64, which imposed term limits for the Montana House of Representatives. C-64 created Section 8 of Article IV of the Montana Constitution, which says that Montana State Representatives cannot serve 8 or more years in any 16-year period.
As of 2010, there were 100 Montana State Representatives.
In addition to the 15 Montana state representatives who left office because of term limits in 2010, 15 Montana state senators were also termed-out.
