Montana Retail Sales of Alcohol, IR-40 (1938)

The Montana Retail Sales of Alcohol Initiative, also known as IR-40, was on the November 8, 1938 ballot in Montana as a veto referendum, where it was approved. The measure provided for the regulation, licensing, taxing and authorizing the sale of liquor at retail for consumption on the premises where sold.[1][2]
