Montana Returning Property Tax, CI-8 (1978)

The Montana Returning Property Tax Amendment, also known as CI-8, was on the November 7, 1978 ballot in Montana as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have returned some responsibility for property tax assessment to the counties and established a State-County Equalization Commission to establish property valuation and assessment guidelines.[1][2]
