Montgomery City Dry Status Referendum (2010)
There will be a Montgomery City Dry Status Referendum in Trigg County.
September 2009 Trigg County voted in favor of going wet, meaning the legal sale of alcohol throughout the county. The city of Montgomery though wants to return to its dry status. Citizens of the city filed a petition with the district judge in order to try and get this issue to a vote. The judge took a while in deciding on the issue and it was unclear when the decision on it would be made. Residents who filed the petition hoped the issue would be resolved quickly. Montgomery voted against the county going wet.[1]
The judge decided that Montgomery was allowed to vote on going back to being dry. When the vote will be held is still being decided.[2]
