This measure sought to renew the current 6.03 millage that was in place which helped fund services in the county. The original levy was passed in 2003 and was set to expire at the end of 2010. The cost for an average homeowner in the county was estimated at around $16 a month.[2]

Since the new levy passed, the cost was set to increase to $287.75 or $23.98 per month.[3] If the levy renewal had not passed, the owner of a $136,000 home would not have been required to pay the $263.23 per year.
