Economic Development and workforce development are public policy area that I am specifically passionate about because I believe that a rising tide does not lift all boats. Some boats need some TLC, and the city can work with the private sector to create opportunities for people to succeed and thrive in this city.
This office is the lowest unit of government but often the most misunderstood level of government. This is an opportunity for those elected to educate people more.
I look up to Congressman Don Davis, Governor Wes Moore, and numerous other elected officials that are true public servants and fighters for their constituents.
Honesty, Grace, and the ability to collaborate with others and find common ground despite differences.
I possess the unique ability to connect with people from all different backgrounds and demographics. This is extremely important because my district is one of the most diverse in the city of Charlotte.
To be responsive to the needs of your district and constituents and the be the number one advocate for your district and constituents.

Being the first in my family to graduate from college has been a struggle because I had no one to look up to for an example of how to transition to a successful career after college. I had to figure it out on my own.
Zoning and the power to determine land-use is one responsibility for city council that more people should be aware of. It is extremely important and determines who gets what, when, and how.
Strategic planning, budgeting and finance, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
This office is closest to the people. So, my default the officeholder must be a people person, they must truly have a heart for others and be willing to dedicate the time necessary to be a an effective and responsive public servant because that is what the people expect and that is what they deserve.
Financial transparent and government accountability go hand-in-hand. All elected officials should be required to attend ethics training and undergo a thorough conflict of interest vetting.
