Arguments for recall
Gutierrez recall proponents
Gutierrez was targeted for recall by citizens who alleged that the developer of a warehouse complex dubbed the World Logistics Center held too much influence over the city. Iddo Benzeevi gave more than $400,000 to the independent expenditures committees that helped Gutierrez and another council member win election.[1]
Jempson and Price recall proponents
Supporters of the World Logistics Center served Jempson and Price with recall papers. After federal and local authorities closed a corruption investigation without filing charges, supporters alleged that their election in a 2014 recall was based on lies.[1]
