Morgan Hill School District bond proposition, Measure G (November 2012)
A Morgan Hill School District bond proposition, Measure G ballot question was on the November 6, 2012, ballot for voters in the Morgan Hill School District in Santa Clara County, where it was approved.[1]
Measure G authorizes the school district to borrow $198.25 million. The property tax cost for repayment will be about $59 a year for every $100,000 in assessed value.[2]
A 55 percent supermajority vote was needed for approval.

Support
The editorial board of the San Jose Mercury News supported Measure G, writing, "The district's 14 schools average 40 years old. Average. They need repairs, and students need spaces like engineering labs and areas to work on group projects. Funds from this bond measure will improve bandwidth, so teachers and students can all log on at the same time. And the district will start a technology endowment to keep equipment up to date."[2]

| Measure G: "To improve student access to computers and modern technology and provide a quality education, repair or replace leaky roofs, upgrade old plumbing, heating/cooling systems, classrooms and outdated restrooms, upgrade fire safety, maximize energy efficiency, improve handicapped accessibility, and modernize, construct and acquire classrooms, equipment, sites and facilities, shall Morgan Hill Unified School District issue $198,250,000 in bonds at legal rates, with citizen oversight, annual audits, no funds for administrator salaries and all funds spent on local schools?"[3] |
