Morton Greenberg
Morton Greenberg was a federal judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. He first joined the court on March 23, 1987, after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan.[1] Greenberg assumed senior status on June 30, 2000. His service ended on January 28, 2021, when he died.[2][3]
Early life and education
A native of Carnegie, Pennsylvania, Greenberg graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with his bachelor's degree in 1954 and from Yale Law School with his LL.B. in 1957.[1]

Greenberg was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on February 11, 1987, to a seat vacated by Judge Leonard Garth, who assumed senior status. Hearings on Greenberg's nomination were held before the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on March 11, 1987, and his nomination was reported by then-U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) on March 19, 1987. Greenberg was confirmed on a voice vote of the U.S. Senate on March 20, 1987, and he received his commission on March 23, 1987. He assumed senior status on June 30, 2000.[1][4] He was succeeded in this position by Judge Michael Chertoff.
