Mosher Joseph Blumenfeld (1904-1988) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. He joined the court in 1961 after an appointment from John F. Kennedy. At the time of appointment, he was a private practice attorney. From 1971-1974, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on January 20, 1977. He served the District of Connecticut until his death on November 5, 1988.[1]

Judicial career

District of Connecticut

Blumenfeld was nominated by President John F. Kennedy on August 7, 1961, to a new seat created by 75 Stat. 80. He was confirmed by the Senate on August 15, 1961, and received his commission that same day. From 1971-1974, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on January 20, 1977. He served the District of Connecticut until his death on November 5, 1988.[1] Blumenfeld was succeeded in this position by Ellen Burns.
