This measure sought to raise the local property taxes to the previous rate of 15 mills, the current reduced rate is 13.7 mills. If it had been approved, this tax addition would have added on average $52 a year to local property taxes. The money would have been used to help with budget shortfalls though the amount would not have fully covered the deficit.[2]
