A Mount Morris Township Fire Tax Levy proposal was approved on the May 7, 2013, election ballot in Genesee County, which is in Michigan.
This measure authorized the Township of Mount Morris to increase its property taxes by 1.5 mills ($1.5 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 10 years in order to fund fire protection services. The estimated first year revenue increase from this tax is $412,500.[1]

| “ | Shall the previously voted increase in the tax limitation in Mount MorrisTownship, imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution, of 1.5 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) which was renewed on May 5, 2009, for 10 years, 2009 through 2018 inclusive, be increased by 1.5 mills ($1.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for 10 years, 2013 through 2022 inclusive, for fire services, raising an estimated $412,500 in the first year the millage is levied.[1][2] | ” |
