Moved primary means earlier campaigning allowed for Ohio candidates
October 12, 2011
Ohio: Last week, the Ohio Supreme Court revised the dates for judicial candidates campaigning in the state. The Ohio General Assembly has moved the presidential primary election up to March 6, 2012, which is two months earlier than normal. Because of the window of campaign fundraising allowed in the Ohio Code of Judicial Conduct, candidates for the 2012 judicial elections may start raising money as soon as November 7, 2011. If donating to their own campaign, candidates may already deposit funds, since that is allowed to occur 210 days before the election.[1]
