A Mt. Sterling Village Income Tax Increase measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the village of Mt. Sterling which is in Madison County.

This measure sought to increase the current income tax by a rate 1/2 percent for a continuing period of time in order to further pay for public safety, street lighting and repairs and capital improvement costs in the village.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Ordinance providing for an additional one-half of one percent (1/2%) levy on income for the purpose of providing 40% for public safety, 15% for streetlights, 20% for capital improvements, and 25% for street repairs of the Village be passed?[3]
