The city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, held a special primary election for East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court Section 1 Division B and Baton Rouge City Court Division 2A on November 13, 2021. A general election was scheduled for December 11, 2021. The filing deadline for this election was July 16, 2021.[1]
On September 9, 2021, Gov. John Bel Edwards signed an executive order postponing the state's fall elections due to damage from Hurricane Ida. The primary, originally scheduled for October 9, was changed to November 13. The general election, originally scheduled for November 13, was changed to December 11.[2]

East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court Section 1 Division B
Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

Baton Rouge is a city in Louisiana. Since 1947, its government has been consolidated with that of East Baton Rouge Parish.[3] As of 2020, its population was 227,470.
