Bronx County in New York held a general election for borough president on November 7, 2017, in which incumbent Ruben Diaz Jr. was re-elected. Bronx County is also known as the Borough of Bronx. New York allows cross-filing, which means candidates may file to run on multiple party tickets. New York City also held elections for mayor, city council, and other city officials in 2017.
A primary election was held for the three Democratic candidates on September 12, 2017. Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. ran as a Democratic and Working Families Party candidate. Diaz defeated Camella Price, who also filed under the Reform Party, and Avery Selkridge in the Democratic primary. Republican candidate Steven DeMartis and Conservative Party candidate Antonio Vitiello also ran in the general election.
