Ballotpedia identified the March 5 Democratic primary for district attorney as a battleground race. Sean Teare (D) defeated incumbent Kim Ogg (D) 75%-25%. Ogg was first elected in 2016 on a platform of prosecuting violent offenders, offering diversion programs as an alternative to jail time, and making less use of cash bail.[1] She ran for re-election in 2024 on her record in office. Teare, a former county prosecutor, said he was running because Ogg had failed to live up to her campaign promises.[2] Click here for more information on the Democratic primary for district attorney.
