Jefferson County, Alabama, held general elections for district attorney, sheriff, county commission, circuit court judges, and district court judges on November 8, 2022. A primary was scheduled for May 24, 2022. A primary runoff was scheduled for June 21, 2022. The filing deadline for this election was January 28, 2022.
The 10th Judicial Circuit Court Place 14 judicial seat was removed from the ballot. After Tiara Hudson won the primary for the judicial seat, the Alabama Judicial Resources Allocation Commission transferred the judgeship from Jefferson County to Madison County. As a result, the general election for the seat was canceled. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the ACLU of Alabama sued to have the judgeship restored to Jefferson County.
