Multnomah County, Oregon, held primary elections on May 21, 2024, for district attorney, county commission, metro council, tax court judge, and circuit court judges. A general election was scheduled for November 5, 2024. The filing deadline for these offices was March 12, 2024. The county also held general elections for soil and water conservation districts and special general elections for the Urban Flood Safety and Water Quality District on November 5, 2024. The deadline for filing for those offices was August 27, 2024. The filing period for a special election on the circuit court also passed on September 5, 2024.[1]
Candidates for district attorney, county commission, metro council, and regular elections for circuit court seats could win outright in the primary if they received a majority of the votes. If no candidate received a majority, the top two candidates advanced to the general election scheduled for November 5, 2024. The primaries for the three circuit court special elections were canceled when fewer than three candidates filed to run. Those candidates automatically advanced to the general election.
