Improving infrastructure, building strong community connections, and fostering transparency.
Elected officials should display integrity, empathy, and a commitment to service. Decisions should be made transparently and ethically, always putting the community’s needs first by truly understanding the diverse experiences and challenges they face.

Additionally, collaboration and open communication are vital. Creating solutions that reflect the collective voice of the community is pivotal in making meaningful change.
My first college degree was in English from the University of Baghdad. In 1998 I moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to work for Siemens. A supervisor of mine introduced me to a new career opportunity at Shell, and with his encouragement I resigned from Siemens to join him. Our department focused on cultural education, primarily helping Western colleagues understand and adapt to cultural differences in Shell’s Middle Eastern and African locations. For 12 years, my amazing wife Sahar supported me through the long, sometimes stressful days.
