My name is Myah Johnson and I am running for State Senator in District 44, which consists of Love Joy, Jonesboro, Morrow, Forest Park, and parts of DeKalb County. I have over a decade of State, Federal and Legislative Congressional experience where I have served as a Senior Constituent Services Representative on Federal, State and Legislative policy issues, in addition to, my extensive educational background in Political Science and Sociology. While working in the Federal Sector for a decade, I had the opportunity to represent over 100,000 Constituents on federal, state and legislative issues and work with agencies such as: the Social Security Administration, United States Department of Labor, Housing and Urban Development, Internal Revenue Service, United States Department of Education, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, United States Postal Service, Office of Personnel Management and many more agencies to assist constituents in resolving their state and federal issue/issues. I also worked as a Senior Housing Representative for nine years and I have assisted many constituents in avoiding foreclosure and keeping their homes. Additionally, I assisted thousands of constituents in filling out their financial documentation to qualify for the $345 Million dollar Hardest Hit Fund program. I also provided new policy legislation to Congressman David Scott regarding the Hardest Hit Fund program, which was later implemented to allow more Georgians to get approved.
  • Vote for Myah if you want new and improved jobs in the 44th district to reduce unemployment and underemployment. Vote for Myah if you want apprenticeships that will turn into permanent positions that pays a nice salary.
  • Vote for Myah to bring the the Boys and Girls Club to our community to mentor our children, create programs focused on academics, leadership, and provide employment opportunities, for our youth.
  • Vote for Myah if you want college funding to assist our children with their tuition as an incentive for them to go to college.
I want to create more employment opportunities for the constituents that reside in the 44th district.

I want to also create apprenticeship opportunities in major corporations that will turn into permanent positions.
In an effort to deter gangs in our community, I want to bring the Boys and Girls Club to our community to mentor our children, create programs focused on academics, leadership, and provide employment opportunities for our youth.
I will create stricter laws to deter sex trafficking.
I will reduce the rate of recidivism by providing better job opportunities for convicted felons that are re-entering the workforce.

Provide jobs for the homeless and work with HUD to obtain vouchers for the homeless.
I believe in God and if you treat people right in life and live a godly life, good things will happen for you. That is the motto that I live by and it works for me.
As an elected official, it is important to me that you have a political background, therefore, you understand the issues that will presented before you, and you will know how to properly address and fix the issue.

It's important that you have integrity, intelligence, and that you love working with individuals of all walks of life.

Patience and professionalism is very important as well.

I also had the pleasure of providing new policy legislation to Congressman David Scott regarding the Hardest Hit Fund program, which was later implemented to allow more Georgians to get approved for this Federally funded, State administered program. I partnered with the United States Department of Treasury each year to allow constituents within the district the opportunity to meet face to face with their lender to try and obtain a loan modification or refinance their mortgage loan.
Your primary duties as a State Senator is to create, debate and vote on legislation that will either create new laws, or modify existing laws. It's also important to have town hall meetings to stay in touch with your constituents to ensure that you are implementing new laws that will benefit them and our community as a whole.
