Myron Frans is the former nonpartisan Minnesota Commissioner of Management and Budget, serving from 2015 to 2020. Gov. Mark Dayton (D) appointed him in December 2014, and he began serving in January of the following year.[1] Frans resigned on September 1, 2020, to join the University of Minnesota as the senior vice president of finance and operations.[2][3][4]

Career

Frans worked as a tax attorney from 1983 to 2009, including a stint as senior tax partner at Faegre & Benson in Minneapolis. He also served as the president of Leeds Precision Instruments in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Frans was appointed as the state Commissioner of Revenue from 2011 and served until his appointment to the Department of Management and Budget.[5]
