N. Gunter Guy Jr.
N. Gunter Guy Jr. is a former Alabama commissioner of conservation and natural resources. Guy was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley (R) on January 11, 2011, and served until his resignation on May 26, 2017.[1][2]
Biography
Guy attended Auburn University for his undergraduate studies. After receiving his bachelor's degree in finance, he went on to earn his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham. He entered private practice in 1982 as a government entity and general civil defense attorney with the Montgomery-based law firm Ball, Ball, Mathews & Novak, P.A. He remained at the firm until his appointment to the Governor's Cabinet in 2011.
In addition to his private practice, Guy also worked as the city attorney for Montgomery, Alabama, for 16 years.[1]
