NC bill would criminalize women who appear topless in public

RALEIGH, North Carolina: A bill expected to be approved in the North Carolina Legislature would make it legal to send women to prison for appearing topless in public.[1]
The bill is in response to two topless rallies that occurred in Asheville, NC. According to the legislation, a woman could be charged with a felony, punishable by up to six months in prison for first-time offeners.[2]
One of the sponsors is representative Rayne Brown (R).
The bill will next head to the House floor before going to the Senate.[3]
North Carolina is one of 24 states with a Republican trifecta -- meaning the legislature and governorship are controlled by the GOP.
