RALEIGH, North Carolina: State Representative Robert Brawley (R) resigned earlier this month from his position of chairman of the Finance Committee.[1]
In his resignation letter, Brawley blamed state house speaker Thom Tillis, pointing to disputes the two officials have had during the 2013 session.[2][3]
Brawley was elected to the state house in 2012 in what is his second tenure in the chamber. He previously served from 1981-1998. Running in a heavily Republican district, Brawley did not face general election opposition.[4][5]
