NH Governor's budget allocates e-court startup funding
February 22, 2011
New Hampshire: The New Hampshire Governor's Office released its much awaited budget on February 15, 2011, allocating the court a portion of the money requested for allegedly money saving court restructuring. The court received an annual operating budget of $74 million, $12 million short of their requested funds. $2.6 million of that budget is directed at implementing changes to the Judicial branch outlined by the Judicial Branch Innovation Commission. The money was to be directed towards modernizing the branch and installing a calling center to help answer phone calls from constituents. While the courts were pleased with the allotment, they fear it will not go far enough in helping update the Judiciary to implement cost saving measures.[1]
