CONCORD, New Hampshire: The New Hampshire House of Representatives committee to hear grievances against public officials has rejected the attempt of a legislator to oust a state judge. State Representative Lars Christiansen grievance against Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge James Barry was rejected with a 10-2 vote. The grievance was filed as a result of a 2009 ruling in which Judge Barry held that the state was within its authority to require Hudson to provide child care for children up to 5 years old. Christiansen felt that this ruling went against the New Hampshire Constitution and called for Barry's removal. Christiansen is considering challenging the decision before the full House of Representatives.[1]
