Trenton, NJ The latest New Jersey budget cuts proposed by Governor Chris Christie will cut over $25 million from the state courts. The budget cuts will delay much needed technology upgrades in the courthouses and directly impact training and travel budgets for judges and judicial employees. This is the second major cut to the courts budget in as many years, with last years cuts reaching $31 million. Winnie Comfort, a spokeswoman for the court, told the press, "Was it cause for concern? Yes. We have been managing with budget reductions over the past few years and we’re going to have to continue."[1]
