Las Cruces, NM Embattled New Mexico District judge Mike Murphy (New Mexico) was arrested on July 28, 2011 on a fresh round of bribery charges. Murphy, a judge for the Las Cruces 3rd Judicial District Court, was suspended from duty this year when he was indicted with bribery charges on May 13, 2011. The original charges stem from his alleged encouragement of campaign contributions in employment interviews. Murphy plead not guilty to all of the charges. The latest charges allege that Murphy bribed the governors administration for his appointment to the bench. The trial date has not been set.[1]
