I am a parent in the HCSD with a 5th grader and 2nd grader at Alton Darby. I have a 7 month old, too. My career path at Mars Petcare has lead me to areas of compliance, auditing and technical skills through upholding quality standards to working with regulators. Having this part of my daily workday helps me to be comfortable in the governance piece of being a school board member. My experience as being a board member and serving as the delegate to the Ohio School Boards Association has allowed me to have created a network with other school board members to allow us to continue to share and support issues within public education and be part of effective Board of Educations.
Our district is unique as there are many municipalities that make up our district. This provides many opportunities for communication and alignment of activities. We have made progress in the past few years. I have seen a change in focus of municipalities working together since my first days as a member of the Board of Education. I am proud of the progress which we have made and will continue to improve these relationships. I will continue to support activities of board members meeting with other officials to ensure communications lines are open. I will continue to support the requests of input as development activities come to our community.
