Nancy Atkins
Nancy G. Atkins is a former Kentucky commissioner of insurance. She was appointed to the position by Governor Matt Bevin (R) effective May 1, 2017.[1] She left office in 2020 when Gov. Andy Beshear (D) appointed Sharon Clark to the position.
Biography
Atkins is a licensed nurse, a former hospital administrator, and an insurance professional with more than 30 years of industry experience. In her early career, she worked as a licensed agent and employee benefits manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kentucky and Advantage Care Inc. She later worked as the director of sales and marketing for Baptist Health Plan from 2000 to 2016. In February 2017, Atkins was named deputy commissioner for the Kentucky Department of Insurance.[1][2]
