Nancy Atlas
Nancy Atlas is an Article III federal judge on senior status for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She joined the court in 1995, after being nominated by President Bill Clinton. Atlas assumed senior status on June 20, 2014, and retired from the court on July 31, 2022.[1]
Early life and education
Born in New York City, New York, Atlas graduated from Tufts University with her bachelor's degree in 1971 and received her J.D. degree from New York University School of Law with in 1974.[1]

Judicial career
Southern District of Texas
Atlas was nominated to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas by President Bill Clinton on April 4, 1995, to a seat vacated by James DeAnda. Atlas was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 30, 1995, on a voice vote and received commission on June 30, 1995.[2]
Atlas assumed senior status on June 20, 2014, and retired from the court on July 31, 2022.[1]
