Campaign website

Brune's campaign website stated the following:

Priorities and Work

As a long-time resident of Ward 6, Nancy is proud to represent our community, always working to balance practical solutions with preserving the unique character of our neighborhoods.

Working with residents and the City of Las Vegas team, Nancy has helped strengthen public safety, secured major infrastructure investments, supported small businesses, expanded housing options, and protected the character of our unique neighborhoods.

Smart Development

Prioritizing Smart Growth

Nancy has prioritized smart growth that protects our unique Ward 6 character while expanding amenities, much needed public safety infrastructure, and housing options for families, seniors, and service members. Working closely with our neighbors, she has been a strong voice for protecting our neighborhoods — approving projects that create jobs and help protect and preserve the special nature of Ward 6.

Housing For All

As Chair of the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, Nancy advocates for attainable housing projects in southern Nevada. Recently, she organized and hosted a workshop with developers and agencies to explore strategies to increase the development of condominiums, an important strategy to increasing home ownership rates here in Southern Nevada.

New Communities

Nancy approved the Kyle Canyon Special Area Plan, guiding long-term growth and shaping the future of the northwest valley. Nancy has advocated for new housing developments to include amenities and open space to ensure that we are building beautiful communities that will allow our families to live, work, and play in Ward 6.

Public and Community Safety

Public and community safety remains one of Nancy’s top priorities. Through strong partnerships with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and our City Marshals, proactive educational town halls and focused projects, Ward 6 remains the safest ward in the city.

Public Safety Investments

Nancy successfully advocated for a new Skye Canyon Police Substation and adjacent park — a major investment that will bring faster response times and added safety to thousands of residents in the northwest. Ward 6 also opened the Skye Canyon Fire Station #46 in 2023, expanding emergency coverage.

E-Bike and E-Scooter Ordinance

In response to rising injuries and fatalities involving e-bikes and e-scooters, Nancy partnered with LVMPD and our deputy city attorney to pass updated safety regulations that better protect riders and pedestrians. Read about the ordinance here:  Click Here for more

Harsher Penalties for Drunk Drivers

In 2025, Nancy worked with our deputy city attorney and Senator John Steinbeck to successfully pass legislation that imposes harsher penalties on drunk drivers. Read about the bill here:  Click here for more

Balloon Release Ban Ordinance

City Council passed Nancy’s ordinance restricting the intentional outdoor release of helium-filled balloons to protect our power grid and prevent power outages, protect workers, and safeguard local wildlife. Read more about the ordinance here:  Click here for more

New Traffic Lights and Traffic-Calming Measures

In response to neighbors’ concerns, Nancy advocated for traffic studies that led to the implementation of new traffic lights and other traffic-calming measures in our fastest-growing areas.

Small Business Growth

Small businesses are the heart of Ward 6’s economy. We regularly connect with local entrepreneurs to provide resources, guidance and opportunities to grow and succeed.

Small Business Breakfast

Our quarterly breakfasts provide networking, education and expert speakers for Northwest area entrepreneurs. Attendance has increased 125% since we launched.

Highlight Opportunities

We provide complimentary promotional video features to help Ward 6 small businesses reach new customers – with 18 businesses highlighted thus far.

Vendor Opportunities

We increased the number of big community events we host in order to provide additional opportunities to small businesses to sell their goods and services.

Parks and Amenities

Prioritizing Smart Growth and Expanding Family-Friendly Amenities

Nancy has prioritized balanced growth that protects our unique Ward 6 character while advocating for additional outdoor recreational amenities.

Expansion of Recreational Amenities

We added three pickleball courts at Centennial Hills Park and Sunny Springs Park, with six additional courts in development. Nancy has advocated for the expansion of our active adult center and continued development of our 120-acre Regional Sports Park, which will include new baseball fields, a running track, and soccer fields. Nancy has also advocated for a running track.

Park Protections

Ward 6’s parks are valued community spaces that deserve ongoing care and protection. Nancy protected Floyd Lamb Park from future commercial development through a city resolution, preserving it as open space for future generations. Nancy has advocated for and funded infrastructure improvements at Centennial Hills Park. Knowing how important our horse trails and open spaces are for our neighbors who have horses, Nancy has advocated for and funded improvements at Bradley Bridle Park and Floyd Lamb Park. Ward 6 also regularly partners with Get Outdoors Nevada to keep our parks clean and welcoming.

Healthy Communities

Housing

In 2025, Nancy supported the approval of the 900-acre, master planned community, Monument Hills. The unique feature of this community is the 300 units of military housing that will support families stationed at Creech and Nellis Air Force Bases, helping ensure they have safe, affordable places to call home.

Care for Active Military Families

In 2025, Nancy chaired the Civilian Military Council, working closely with military leaders to address everyday challenges such as professional license reciprocity for spouses, access to quality housing, and expanded K–12 education options.

Wellness

Nancy has partnered with Race to Erase 22 to rent garden beds at Floyd Lamb Park for veterans and first responders. The goal is to reduce their stress and improve overall wellness and connection to the community.

Protecting Our Animals

As an animal lover and foster dog mom, Nancy is committed to giving voice to the voiceless through smart policy and strong rescue partnerships.

Pet Shop Ordinance

Nancy strengthened pet store regulations to improve animal welfare and support rescue-based adoptions. Read about the ordinance here: Las Vegas Takes New Steps To Protect Animals And Promote Responsible Pet Practices

Peacock Protection

Nancy partnered with our Floyd Lamb Park city team and Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary to restore the park’s historic peafowl population, resulting in ten healthy peachicks. Read in the news here: Las Vegas will lose these peacocks if nothing changes

Connecting With Neighbors

Connecting With Neighbors

We ensure government transparency with regular neighborhood events, monthly office hours, and responsive constituent service. Nancy established a Ward 6 Neighborhood Service Crew to activate neighbors to help take care of Ward 6.

Taking Care of Neighborhoods

Nancy is committed to keeping our Ward 6 neighborhoods safe and clean. She has partnered with neighbors, organizations, agencies, and law enforcement organizations to clean up abandoned lots, refresh landscaping, remove graffiti, and clear encampments.

Bocaditos With Brune

Bocaditos With Brune is a monthly gathering at our Ward 6 satellite office, which Nancy has held since she first took office. It’s an intimate space for neighbors to ask questions, share thoughts, and connect over coffee and snacks.

Las Vegas Youth Council

As a supporter of youth development, Nancy was proud to advocate for the creation of the new Las Vegas Youth Advisory Council, which will help develop youth voice and leaders.

Service Projects and Social events

In 2023, Nancy launched the organization of the Ward 6 Volunteer Service Crew, which was established to help keep Ward 6 neighborhoods safe and clean. We have organized dozens of service activities and drives in support of our neighborhoods, animals, youth in foster care, and our unhoused neighbors.

Nancy has increased opportunities to regularly connect with others through park and neighborhood clean-ups, town halls, small business breakfasts, book clubs, yappy hours, movies in the park, neighborhood street festivals, crafting events, nature walks, star gazing nights, yoga in the park, classic car shows, equestrian and cultural events, and neighborhood office hours.
