Nancy Hollister
Nancy Hollister is a former nonpartisan member of the Ohio State Board of Education representing District 8. Hollister was first appointed to the board in 2016.
Biography
Hollister was first elected to the Marietta City Council in 1980. She was elected as the city's mayor in 1984 and served in that role until 1991, when she was appointed as the head of the Governor's Office of Appalachia. After she left the state legislature in 2005, Hollister became involved in local community initiatives.[1]

Political career
Ohio State Board of Education (2016-2019)
Hollister was first appointed to the board by Gov. John Kasich (R) in May 2016 to fill a vacancy. She was elected to a full term in November 2016. On January 9, 2017, Hollister was elected to a two-year term as the board's vice president. She served until January 2019.[2]
Ohio House of Representatives (1999-2005)
Hollister was first elected to represent District 93 in the Ohio House of Representatives in 1998 and was re-elected in 2000 and 2002.
Governor of Ohio (1998-1999)
Hollister succeeded to the office of governor of Ohio in 1998 after Gov. George Voinovich (R) resigned to take his seat in the U.S. Senate. She served until Gov. Bob Taft (R) took office in January 1999.
Lieutenant Governor of Ohio (1995-1998)
Hollister was first elected as lieutenant governor of Ohio in the 1994 election and served until Gov. Voinovich's resignation.
