Nancy Cooper was a candidate for the Enka District seat on the Buncombe County Schools Board of Education in North Carolina. She was defeated in the general election held on November 4, 2014.

Cooper earned her bachelor’s degree in French and secondary education for Houghton College and her master’s degree in child development and family relations at Western Carolina University. During her 34-year education career, her students have included preschoolers, after-school grade schoolers, college students, and teachers at teacher-training events. As an administrator, Cooper directed child development centers with students of various ages and she also trained and led school group hosts for a large historic home. Cooper is married and has two daughters.[1]

Three seats on the Buncombe Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Newcomers Max Queen and Nancy Parker Cooper competed in the Enka District. Incumbent Pat Bryant faced challengers Stephanie Buckner and Jason Summey in the Erwin District. In the Reynolds District, incumbent Lisa Baldwin ran against newcomer Cindy McMahon.

Max Queen defeated Nancy Parker Cooper for the Enka District seat. Incumbent Pat Bryant won re-election to the Erwin District seat. Newcomer Cindy McMahon defeated incumbent Lisa Baldwin for the Reynolds District seat.
