Reagan Foster's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
“ |
Job Creation We need to change our business climate to encourage and assist in developing individual entrepreneurship as well as corporations. Through common sense legislation by reforming our tax structure, revising prevailing wage rate to the federal rates and implementing paycheck protection laws. These changes can be made and are imperative to make West Virginia more competitive and promote prosperity for our citizens. Our continued effort to support the natural gas development and encouraging those companies that want to do business in our state will produce those good paying jobs that we desperately need. It’s time to get our fiscal house in order, balance our budget and grow our economy with new jobs. When we close the door to new businesses we shut the door of opportunity for our residents. Common Sense Regulations Government has a part in our society however they have overreached their authority in our lives. The growth of government has grown more than the rate of our population, as it has decreased through the years. Maintain roll call during voting of bills, broadcast regular session, begin term limits for public elected officials, establish single member districts are some of the ways to hold our elected officials accountable and have better representation for our communities. Our Natural Resources West Virginia is blessed with natural beauty and natural resources, most West Virginians want to have a harmonious balance. The EPA has overreached it’s authority and is bullying the hard working, law abiding citizens of West Virginia to access their private property without proper permission and is placing reckless heavy fines and expensive requirements that are based upon inaccurate data. This government has made it extremely difficult for our coal industry to survive. Government’s role is to provide an atmosphere that balances the need for environmental protection without eliminating the coal industry and the jobs it provides. Reform Our Court System West Virginia needs to stop writing laws for lawyers and start writing laws for our citizens. Make our court system more efficient and more friendly to the individual by having standard forms for standard motions. Allow small business owners the choice of representing themselves without legal counsel to reduce their legal costs. Establish an appellate court between the circuit courts and the Supreme Court to ensure due process. Allow our family court to encourage both sides of a divorce involving children to negotiate without the manipulation of legal counsel which can prolong the process and add unnecessary expense to each party. Protect Our West Virginia Values As a concerned citizen, mother and grandmother keeping our conservative values is a priority. As your delegate I commit to protect the unborn, to define marriage being between one man and one woman, fight to preserve our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, strengthen the family and support policies that protect our senior citizens and military veterans.[2] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
