2015
VanReece's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[5]
Development
- Excerpt: "For years there's been discussion about extending Neelys Bend to the west side of Gallatin. We need mixed-use development along the extended bend. One of my primary goals as a new council person would be to work with all city departments and creative developers to achieve real progress in this area of what is known as downtown Madison."
- Excerpt: "If the research from Metro Planning is true - we need more mixed use affordable housing in Davidson county. Our area of Nashville should be the jewel of that plan. It's right off Ellington Parkway already zoned for business, on the MTA grid, and has a thriving artistic community from the nearby Nossi College of Art."
Community spaces
- Excerpt: "The property behind the Madison library would be perfect for a walking park and outdoor community space for our youth as well as the many women and men that are members of the Fifty Forward Madison Station Center across the street. To respect the musical heritage of the area, I would support that it be named after the late Madison native, the legendary Kitty Wells."
- Excerpt: "When you look at a map of District 8, the only green space is a place called Oakwood Park. When you go to visit there, all you see is a small, run-down playground and a chain-link fence. One of my goals as councilperson would be to work diligently with Metro Parks to discover the best use of this property for all the families in the area."
