VanderMeer's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[11]
“ |
I understand a strong a strong workforce is critical to building Wisconsin's economy. That's why I support making investments in vocational and professional training programs that will prepare workers for today's economy. I know an investment in our workforce is a strong investment in our future.
Whether it's working at my family's small-town car dealership or on my husband, Dave Hall's 5th generation dairy farm, hard work is at my core. That's why I will fight to protect our rural way of life by keeping big government out of our family farms and protecting our rights as property owners.
Our children are our future. That's why I support giving parents the tools that they need to measure student performance and ensure that their children receive a top-notch education.[12] |

VanderMeer's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[13]
Create jobs & strengthen our economy

Control government spending & hold the line on taxes

That was finally solved in 2011 when Governor Walker and the legislature eliminated a $3.6 Billion budget deficit without raising taxes or using tricks or gimmicks. I am committed to fiscal reforms that make sure we do not spend beyond our means and ensure we keep our income and property taxes at reasonable levels."
Eliminate waste, fraud and abuse

Improve our Education system & Workforce Training efforts

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
