Nancy Wade was a 2014 Green Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 5th Congressional District of Illinois.[1] She was defeated by incumbent Mike Quigley (D) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[2]

She was a 2012 Green candidate for the U.S. House representing the 5th Congressional District of Illinois.[3]

Campaign themes

2012

According to Wade's website, her campaign themes included:

  • Jobs: "...create youth corps, senior corps, park corps, educational improvements, local food initiatives, mental health facilities, and other services for communities hardest hit by the economic irresponsibility of regressive policies that have transferred wealth away from the 99% and to the 1%."
  • Environment: "Stop subsidizing the fossil fuel industry. Immediately turn our full attention and political will to adopting alternative fuels and conservation of energy."
  • Taxes: "Those who profit from gambling with the economic future for all of us should have to contribute a percentage of their profits for improving the common good."[4]

Wade lost to incumbent Mike Quigley.[5] Wade ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Illinois' 5th District. She faced Dan Schmitt (R) and Mike Quigley (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6]
