I am a longtime public servant, community builder, and proud Ruston neighbor who brings both heart and strategy to everything I do.

I’m running for Ruston City Council because I believe in keeping Ruston a caring, engaged, and walkable city. I support smart growth that guides development in a way that protects our city’s unique character while also boosting revenue. I want to ensure safe, responsive services by strengthening long-term planning for the future.

I’m also committed to open, effective local government that prioritizes clear communication, accessible services, and thoughtful succession planning. I care deeply about strengthening our community spaces and ensuring that residents have a strong voice in shaping Ruston’s parks and public places.

I believe the best ideas come from the community. I listen deeply, lead with integrity, and I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves and do the work. With me on the City Council, Ruston will have a leader who brings people together to shape a strong, vibrant, and future-ready city.
  • Ruston is a special community, and we want to make sure it stays that way. The reality is, the decisions made around us, in Tacoma, in Pierce County, and at the state level, affect our daily lives. Instead of being left to react to those changes, we need to be at the table.

By building strong partnerships with our neighbors and regional leaders, I will make sure that Ruston can shape decisions so that we benefit from opportunities, not just absorb the impacts.

Whether it’s public safety, transportation, or managing growth, I will work to ensure Ruston’s voice is heard and our community’s needs are respected.
  • Community First: Ensure Ruston remains a caring, engaged, and walkable city As a Chief Transformation Officer at a statewide agency, I built partnerships to strengthen access to vital services, showing how listening and collaboration create healthier, more connected communities. As a public health leader, I oversaw community engagement efforts that ensured residents’ voices directly shaped priorities, an approach I’d bring to keeping Ruston walkable and engaged. With over 20 years as a bike commuter and advocate for active transportation, I know firsthand how sidewalks, trails, and walkability enhance quality of life in small communities.
  • Smart Growth, Not Just Fast Growth: Prioritize sustainable development of Pt. Ruston parcels In executive leadership roles, I’ve managed multi-million-dollar budgets and contracts, ensuring funds were spent efficiently while aligning with community needs. My work as a strategic planner demonstrates how I approach growth thoughtfully, setting metrics that prioritize long-term sustainability over short-term gains. I have consistently elevated community voices in planning processes, ensuring that development honors local identity rather than displacing it.
I’m passionate about policies that strengthen families, build resilient communities, and make cities more livable.
I look up to President Obama because he showed that you can bring people together across differences, listen deeply, and still make bold, future-focused decisions. That’s the kind of leadership I aspire to: practical, unifying, and rooted in community.
I believe the most important characteristics for an elected official are integrity, transparency, and accountability.
