Over the past 30 years, I have worked in construction, real estate and generally pursued entrepreneurial ventures that kept me always connected to the community.

My interest in seeking office is yet another way that I can support the country that has given me opportunities. I have seen how people struggle, and how one mistake or one judgement can change the course of your life, and not necessarily for good. As I have worked with youth and seniors, I have seen a need for more fairness in our judicial system. I have educated myself through Citizen Academies by all variety of law enforcement agencies in order to deepen my understanding of our judicial system.

I have volunteered in the Klein and Spring school districts. I want to continue supporting our youth by making sure our kids are not getting "thrown under the bus". I identified the Justice of the Peace role as the as a role where I could make decisions and bring forward a fair and balanced approach to the courts
  • Protect Our Children

Our youth deserve opportunities, not obstacles. Too often, young people who make mistakes are pushed deeper into the justice system instead of being guided toward better choices. As Justice of the Peace, I will:

Support programs that focus on rehabilitation, education, and mentorship rather than harsh punishment.

Partner with schools, community groups, and families to create alternatives to truancy fines and juvenile citations.

Ensure that no child is lost in the system by connecting them with resources that put them back on the right path.

A court should be a place of learning and growth, not a revolving door for our youth.
  • Serve with Integrity A Justice of the Peace should be more than a legal authority — they must be a servant of the community. My pledge is to: Lead with humility and fairness, treating everyone with dignity regardless of background or circumstance. Ensure transparency and accountability in court operations, so trust is built and maintained. Uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism, always putting community needs above politics. Justice with a heart means justice rooted in compassion, fairness, and respect.
  • Promote Prevention Courts should not only respond to problems but help prevent them. By working with partners across the community, we can address issues before they escalate. I will: Collaborate with law enforcement, schools, faith leaders, and nonprofits to build strong prevention programs. Encourage mediation and conflict resolution so disputes are settled before they reach the courtroom. Support community initiatives that tackle the root causes of crime and conflict — from truancy to neighborhood disputes. Safer communities are built not just by enforcing the law, but by preventing harm before it happens.
Access to Justice

JPs often serve as the first point of contact for people navigating the legal system.

I believe that we should treat everyone fairly, listen carefully, and follow the law. The courtroom must remain a place in which everyone deserves respect and a fair hearing, no matter who they are or where they come from.

I believe a courtroom should not feel intimidating or confusing, especially for people who do not have a lawyer. Many individuals come to the Justice Court during some of the most stressful moments of their lives. I am committed to running a courtroom that is welcoming, patient, and easy to understand. When people clearly understand the process and feel heard, they are more likely to trust the process.

I am a father, a husband, and a community advocate. As a Pakistani-American immigrant who has lived in Senate District 7 for the last 18 years, I've been an active member of local community organizations and an avid volunteer at our public schools - spending hundreds of hours hosting interfaith community events that bridge folks from different religious and faith backgrounds, as well as at in the local school district where my children attended and graduated from.

As someone who has been in the building industry field for over 30 years, I feel uniquely qualified to provide insight on the needs of our state’s business and commerce, economic development, and infrastructure since in addition to my background in construction, I am a business owner and have experience in real estate. On another note, as a graduate of multiple criminal justice citizens academies such as the FBI, DEA, ATF, Harris County Sheriff, and Precinct Constable 4’s Citizens Academy. I am aware of the needs our communities and law enforcement have in regards to public safety, and can bring this invaluable knowledge to the seat as a Senator.

My knowledge of public safety, coupled with my extensive volunteer work in the community within both interfaith communities after being Director of Public Affairs for my mosque and volunteering extensively in Klein ISD during my kid’s schooling will help me bring a holistic perspective of diverse experiences and backgrounds in SD7 and across the state.

  • Nasir believes in investing in our public schools. He supports fully funding teachers’ salaries; retirement benefits, and ongoing training programs. He has long opposed voucher and for-profit charter school schemes that drain taxpayer dollars from public education, and believes we should be investing in our public schools – not draining them from their funding. Nasir will advocate for the investment and expansion of our public school system in our state since he understands the importance of a good education for the future of our children. He also believes that our state needs to address teacher burnout exacerbated by the pandemic by raising teacher pay and relieving the pressure to teach to the test.
  • Nasir understands that access to affordable healthcare is not a luxury; it’s a fundamental right. His vision for expanding Medicaid to our state is rooted in a deep commitment to ensuring that no family faces financial ruin due to illness. In a country where healthcare costs can lead to bankruptcy and suffering, Nasir’s plan is a beacon of hope for many Texans. If the Texas Legislature expanded Medicaid, more than a million additional Texans would qualify for health insurance. After experiencing the issues of our healthcare system firsthand with his wife as she navigated cancer treatment the last few years, Nasir better understood the need to fund our public hospitals so that anyone can receive life-saving treatment.
  • Nasir recognizes that the climate crisis is not a myth; it’s a reality fueled by human activity and the burning of fossil fuels. Texas, with its unique environmental vulnerabilities, is particularly susceptible to the devastating effects of climate change, including longer droughts and more severe storms. Nasir firmly believes that we must act now to combat this crisis. Nasir believes in clamping down on price gouging during natural disasters and making sure the exorbitant costs incurred during the winter storm are not passed down onto consumers. He is committed to promoting weatherization and strengthening emergency planning to ensure stability during hurricanes and natural disasters.
I have a deep passion for public education since my kids were young. I am also personally passionate about passing gun safety legislation that requires background checks and waiting periods for purchasing guns, investing in our public education system and expanding medicaid, getting the government from between you and your doctor by legalizing abortions and ending our attack on trans kids receiving life-saving treatment, and fixing our electrical grid to ensure no Texan is left in the dark during another environmental disaster.
The role of Senator is to draft, introduce, and ultimately pass legislation that supports, empowers, and represents the needs of the residents of Texas and the district in which they are elected by leading a district and capitol staff which is educated on the issues, and prioritizes the needs of their constituents. The only way to do this is to be on the ground, listening and speaking with resident in our district where they are – in coffee shops, at their community events, in their religious spaces – about the issues that affect them most, and actively building coalitions and bridges between communities in order to build political power, and better support their work and uplift them locally and on the statewide level. In addition to this, the role of a Senator is to establish a state budget alongside their colleagues which conveys the priorities of the state and its constituents. Lastly, the role of the Senator is to create agreement, support, and consensus among colleagues in order to successfully pass legislation introduced by the office that benefits Texans and their constituents.
My favorite book I've recently read is called "Educated" by Tara Westover. It touches in a very real and incisive way about the change an education can have on someone's life -- how it can both open up the world for you and make you questions the life you have lived and the life you choose to chart for yourself.
