I am a first generation Mexican-American, bilingual attorney who has been practicing law since 2006. I am a graduate of New York University and the University of Chicago Law School. My legal experience includes having been an associate with Locke Lord Liddell LLP, a staff attorney for the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, an attorney for the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Texas, the Director of Criminal Justice Reform at the Texas Civil Rights Project, and the Director of Legal Affairs for Harris County Commissioner Precinct One.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• I am a public servant who has directly served thousands of people who are directly impacted by our criminal justice system.
• I am an expert in criminal justice, constitutional law, and civil rights.
• I am a proud  bilingual Latina attorney who brings experience and diversity to our bench.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about criminal justice reform and bringing integrity and fairness to our courts.
