I grew up in Spokane County and have lived in the legislative District 3 for 25 years. My alumni is Gonzaga University, for my Bachelors and Whtiworth University, for my Masters. I am a mother of three gorgeous children and a teacher for my entire 18-year career in Spokane Pubic Schools. I have always been an advocate for my children, my students and the families I have had the joy of working with. I will take my passion for advocacy to the state level. I will advocate for the people of Spokane and give all citizens a voice. It is important for the people to feel heard. I want to represent the people and show true public servant-hood. I believe Washington’s best days are ahead of us.
  • Public Safety-I support our first responders. Violence and property crime are out of control. I will work hard to Refund the Police. Public Safety also means defending your Constitutional rights to self-defense. I will oppose any effort to restrict your rights to defend your property and your family.
  • Education-As a teacher for almost two decades, I am passionate about my students’ well-being. The public education system is failing our students when it comes to the fundamentals of math, science, reading, writing and history. I will demand curriculum transparency and give students the tools they need to become productive members of society. Worse yet, the state does not see parents as the primary influencer in their child’s life. I will establish policy that affirms the parent’s role. I believe in choice; parent choice and school choice.
  • Common sense balanced budget-When our state government spends less it can tax less. After all, the money you work hard for every day belongs to you. I will work to reduce spending, not raise taxes, and bring our share of the state’s budget back home to Spokane.
As a teacher, education will always be at the heart of me but as a mom, a safe community is critical. Our neighborhoods should be a place of community where we all feel safe. My passion is to restore the tools that law enforcement need to do the job they took an oath to do. The "Restore Police Bill" has handcuffed our police officers and crime is skyrocketing across the state and Spokane is one of the worst cities in the country. This bill has also created unsafe situation for other first responders. I will advocate for restoring police pursuit and the ability for law enforcement to arrest criminals who have committed a crime. then we must allow accountability through the judicial system and work together as a community to rehabilitate those whom are willing to accept the support.
