Natalie Prcevski is a mother, businesswoman, board member and community volunteer in south Santa Clara County. For over 15 years, Natalie has been a champion for education and youth volunteering with YMCA assets champions and Youth Sports organizations, fostering inclusion, social, emotional, and physical competency in children. She is an advocate for her community by serving on several boards and being a mentor for women in technology. As a child of immigrants, you carry your parents hopes and dreams. Natalie was the first US college graduate in her family. She knows how important support for English learners is. She herself attended and graduated public school and has a current middle schooler. She believes that parents and families should have quality choices about where they send their children to school. She will support high quality public schools and will not discriminate based on the school’s governance structure. She will be an independent voice for students and families and is committed to always serving their interests. We are better together.
  • Propelling student achievement for all students and all levels of learners. Let’s teach the real-world skills our students need to be successful in school and in life. They deserve the opportunity to move forward.
  • Creating safe, healthy environments where students and teachers can thrive. Mental health awareness and support is fore front post pandemic. We need infrastructure in place to be inclusive, fair, present and listening to ALL.
  • Partnering together with parents and the community to rebuild trust in our public schools. I am a product of public school. My child is in public school. Schools should be centers of our community. Together we lay the foundation for our students to navigate the evolving and complex world before us.
As a child of immigrants and the first US college graduate in my family, support of English Language Learners is important to me. Quality of education correlates to quality of life later on. Early education can shape a child’s future and the more resources available to them. It’s crucial to help remove barriers and create more access for younger students to succeed in school. Equity to me means access to individualized support for students who need food, educational assistance, transportation, and other quality early experiences. Even if parents are aware, finding and accessing resources can be a problem and the county can help. Equity gives a child equal footing. And using data to help track progress will help us personalize plans to close gaps and identify additional needs. We are better together. Children, families, community and schools working toward a common goal. Schools should be the beacon of excellence for the community and a place of safety and inclusion for students so they can be successful in learning and life regardless of race, religion, status, gender, orientation, or disability. Also, students with disabilities usually have the poorest outcomes and we need to help elevate them to success. I will continue to help advocate and grow the county program for services offered to students with disabilities and school districts including the LEA for students who are in institutions and nonpublic schools. And for teachers who need support in the classroom.
